Program Notes:

Psalm 27: 5 says, “He will hide me and set me high upon a rock.” The beautiful gospel song, “He Hideth My Soul” (perhaps inspired by these very words), presents a perfect marriage of text and melody. Fanny Crosby’s (1820-1915) inspirational and flowing text, as set to music by William J. Kirkpatrick (1838-1921), is a constant reminder that God’s love for us is eternal and a never ceasing support in all that we do.

This brief solo features the soloist in a light, flowing testimony and response type setting of this lovely song. The soloist bears witness to God’s love and the accompaniment answers with an affirmative “Amen.”
