This simple but catchy gospel song tells the story of the “Happy Warrior,” a sinner turned soldier in the war against evil who fights with a carefree, joyous spirit. This spirit is only possible because of the knowledge that, no matter what happens to the soldier in the battle, his eventual destination is heaven. The tune has been arranged here as a solo (or duet) in a medium swing style, reminiscent of the great Count Basie Orchestra.
