This arrangement of the tune “Crimond” echoes the style of J.S. Bach by using many of the eighteenth century contrapuntal and harmonic elements found in Bach’s numerous chorale settings of sacred text. The text for this hymn is a paraphrase of Psalm 23, perhaps David’s most famous Psalm.
