No One Ever Cared For Me Like Jesus
Grade Level 2
Year: 2008
Type: Hymn/Song Arrangement
Composer: Andrew Miller III
Program Notes:
Charles F. Weigle (1871-1966) was a traveling preacher and musician who wrote more than 500 gospel songs. In the middle of his ministry, he went through a very dark time when many of the closest people to him turned their back on him. As a result, he had a period of questioning God. He came out of that experience, however, with a renewed relationship with Jesus Christ. This song is an expression of that relationship, as Jesus is his (and hopefully our) incomparable friend.
This arrangement seeks to capture the emotion that is signaled by the unparalleled care of Jesus Christ. The keen listener will note that at two points this arrangement brings in the song Someone Cares (John Gowans/John Larsson), which speaks to a similar theme.
