Program Notes:

Frances Ridley Havergal’s hymn “I Am Trusting Thee, Lord Jesus” has often been associated with the tune “Stephanos.”  It was her favorite hymn text and she kept a copy in her pocket Bible.  Published in 1878, these words still speak to us over a century later of a confident and secure faith:

I am trusting thee, Lord Jesus,

Trusting only thee;

Trusting thee for full salvation,

Great and free.
