This majestic tune is presented in a two-verse setting arranged in a “march” style.  The melody used here gets its name from the composer, John Darwall (1731-1789).  Charles Wesley’s familiar words, “Rejoice, the Lord is King, your Lord and King adore!”, echo the Biblical text: “rejoice in the Lord always; and again I say, rejoice.”  (Philippians 4:4)
