Richard Smallwood’s reverent hymn, “Total Praise,” has become one of the most popular contemporary hymns of recent years. Combining the text of Psalm 121 with a powerful Gospel choir-style and glorious “Amen”, it was written after a particularly difficult time in the composer’s life. It speaks of a God as a “source of our strength” and although life can be difficult, we can always “lift our hands in total praise” to Him.
