“God Be With You Till We Meet Again” was written by the American Congregationalist Jeremiah Eames Rankin in 1880 following his realization that the word “goodbye” is a contraction of “God be with ye.” This farewell hymn is often associated with Ralph Vaughan Williams’ hymn tune “Randolph”, which is the subject of tis brass arrangement.
