During the season of Harvest and thanksgiving, this song is a sure selection in most congregational experiences. The tune originated as a Netherlands Folk Hymn in 1626. It later formed part of a work known as Nederlandtsch Gedenckelank with the known harmonization by Edward Kremser (1838-1914). The words of the hymn, translated into English by Theodore Baker (1851-1934), speak of praise and thanksgiving.
