Program Notes:

This attractive solo is based on two traditional songs of testimony that remain a source of blessing for Christians throughout the world: Daniel Whittle’s “I Know Whom I Have Believed” and John newton’s “Amazing Grace.”  The title is taken from the first verse of the first song.  The chorus is a paraphrase of II Timothy 1:12:

I know not why God’s wondrous grace

To me He hath made known

Nor why, unworthy, Christ in love

Redeemed me for His own.

But I know whom I have believed,

And am persuaded that He is able

to keep that which I’ve committed

Unto Him against that day.
